As a self-taught pianist and composer with a deep rhythmic instinct, he weaves Afro-Brazilian polyrhythms with a spiritual quest and an unmistakable creative freedom.

Born in Casamance (Senegal) and based in Catalonia (Spain), Momi Maiga is a virtuoso kora player, vocalist and composer who fuses Mandinka traditions with jazz, flamenco and classical music. As a descendant of the Cissokho griot family, he represents a new generation of African artists who reinterpret their ancestral heritage through a contemporary, sensitive and universal language.
